Re mothers of boys. When my son was 8 or so, he had a friend visiting. I looked out the bathroom window to check on the boys–just in time to see my son jump off the barn roof. I went tearing down the field to the barn and arrived just in time to see the friend jump off. Neither was injured. I told them not to do that again, and I went back into the house. When I looked out again, I saw that they had tied a large diameter rope to the hayloft peak and had thrown the rope to the lower roof. I looked out just in time to see one of them swing around and into the hayloft. At that point, I decided they each had a death wish and didn’t look out again. They both grew up. My son is now an engineer.
I wanted you to know that I appreciated your column in the Messenger today. I feel the same daily hurts and worries. I thought we were suppose to hurt later on in life. I feel it at 55 and have for a few years. Anyway, I appreciate the belief and the happiness of relying on Jesus. Take care of yourself.
